As a manifestation of Martha Tilaar Group's commitment to empowering communities, especially women, Kampoeng Djamoe Organik (KaDO) Martha Tilaar is once again collaborating with Krida Wacana Christian University (UKRIDA). Following ergonomics training and health checks for farmers last May, KaDO and UKRIDA are now holding community service activities in the form of ecoenzyme production training and stunting prevention training for children (17/7).

Guided by Dr. Ika Rahayu, S.Si. M.Sc. from UKRIDA, the participants, that consist of PKK women's group in Sundawenang Village, Sukabumi, were taught how to make ecoenzyme liquid using household kitchen waste, which can be used as plant fertilizer, all-purpose cleaner, pest repellent, and helps protect the environment. Through this training, it is hoped that the mothers can further optimize the benefits of kitchen waste before it is disposed of in the landfill.

After the ecoenzyme production training, the PKK women's group also received counseling to help children in the area avoid stunting. Stunting is a condition of stunted growth in toddlers (under five years of age) due to chronic malnutrition and repeated infections, especially during the First 1,000 Days of Life. The mothers  in PKK were taught how to choose foods to ensure balanced nutrition for their children. This is expected to help children grow to a height that meets health standards. Furthermore, through this event, the mothers were encouraged to optimize the use of social media such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and others to motivate each other in preventing stunting.

At the end of the event, participants "shopped" for nutritious food items provided by Martha Tilaar's Kampoeng Djamoe Organik. From vegetables and fruits to proteins like eggs and chicken livers, the participants could choose what they want and take it home, so they can cook it straight away at home.

We hope the collaboration between Kampoeng Djamoe Organik Martha Tilaar and UKRIDA can bring knowledge, benefits, and goodness to the residents of Sundawenang Village, Sukabumi. Keep Beautifying Indonesia!
