Martha Tilaar Group begins from a small beauty salon established by DR. (H.C.) Martha Tilaar at a garage sized 4x6 meter in 1970. In 1981, the company called PT. Martina Berto was founded by Dr. HC. Martha Tilaar, (the late) Pranata Bernard, and Theresa Harsini Setiady, established the first modern factory on Jl. Pulo Ayang No. 3, Pulogadung Industrial Estate, which manufactures cosmetics and herbal medicine with brand "Sariayu-Martha Tilaar" for the first time. In 1986, the Company established a second modern factory on Jl. Pulo Kambing, Pulogadung Industrial Estate ("Pulo Kambing Factory").

Martha Tilaar Group has developed its corporate branding management by regarding Martha Tilaar as a â€œhome brand merkâ€, from which the name NET â€“ I3 arising. NET stands for Natural, Eastern, Technology; I3 stands for Icon, Innovation and Institution.

Last Wednesday (28/5), Kampoeng Djamoe Organik (KaDO) Martha Tilaar together with Krida Wacana Christian University (UKRIDA) collaborated to run a CSR program in the form of community service in Sundawenang Village, Sukabumi, West Java. The community service activity themed Ergonomics Counseling and Health Checks for Parungkuda Farmers also invited Dr. Irwan A. Soenandi, Dr.dr. Yosephine Sri Sutanti, the UKRIDA FTIK and FKIK teams, and the Martha Tilaar KaDO team.
