Martha Tilaar Group begins from a small beauty salon established by DR. (H.C.) Martha Tilaar at a garage sized 4x6 meter in 1970. In 1981, the company called PT. Martina Berto was founded by Dr. HC. Martha Tilaar, (the late) Pranata Bernard, and Theresa Harsini Setiady, established the first modern factory on Jl. Pulo Ayang No. 3, Pulogadung Industrial Estate, which manufactures cosmetics and herbal medicine with brand "Sariayu-Martha Tilaar" for the first time. In 1986, the Company established a second modern factory on Jl. Pulo Kambing, Pulogadung Industrial Estate ("Pulo Kambing Factory").

One of the Martha Tilaar Group business units which focus on beauty education, namely Martha Tilaar Academy, has just confirmed its collaboration with the Trisakti Tourism Institute on the special occasion of World Tourism Day, which falls on September 27 2024. The collaboration between the two parties was marked by a cooperation signing ceremony carried out by the Head of Academy Martha Tilaar, Pingkan Tilaar, and the Chancellor of ISP Trisakti, Fetty Asmaniati, SE., MM, and became a new chapter in the educational synergy between the two institutions.

In order to support and develop the creation of industrial technology, the Ministry of Industry has again awarded the Industrial Technology Pioneer Award (RINTEK) to 21 Industrial Technology Pioneer Titles. The RINTEK award is given as a form of government appreciation to industrial players who are dedicated to creating and optimizing industrial technology. This year the RINTEK award is given for 2 years at once, namely 2023 and 2024.
